How to Personalize a 3D Golf Course Map Display: Course, Hole Number and Date Explained
Every Torvo golf course map display is built to order around the details you provide at checkout. Getting them right the first time means no back-and-forth before production starts. Here is exactly what each field is asking for.
Your info: the details that build the map
This is the field that matters most — it is what our team uses to lay out the actual 3D map. Include, as clearly as you can:
- The course name, spelled the way the club itself spells it.
- The hole number where the shot happened.
- The date, at minimum the month and year.
If you are not certain of the exact hole layout, that is fine — the course name and hole number are usually enough for us to work from the course's own published hole guide.
Golfer's name (optional)
Whose name goes on the plaque — useful when the display is a gift and the recipient is not the person placing the order. Leave it blank and we will use the name on the order.
Frame color: black, brown or natural
This is purely aesthetic and worth matching to the room the piece is going in, the same logic as choosing a picture frame. Natural wood tones tend to suit a study or office; black suits a bar or games room; brown sits in between and works in most living spaces.
Photo 1 and photo 2 (optional)
Space for up to two photos — commonly the scorecard, a photo from the round, or a shot of the flag itself. Higher-resolution photos reproduce more clearly at the larger display sizes, so a phone photo taken in good light works better than a screenshot or a heavily cropped image.
Message (optional)
A short line of text — the date written out, a line about who you played with, or simply the achievement itself. This is separate from the required course/hole/date info and is meant for anything extra you want engraved.
The flag display line has slightly different fields
If you are ordering the hole in one flag or shadow box line rather than a course map plaque, the fields are built around the flag instead: scorecard size, up to two pictures, flag orientation (vertical or horizontal — see how to frame a golf flag for how to check yours), background color, and a text field for the hole-in-one details themselves.
What happens after you order
Every personalized piece is made to order after checkout, with a digital proof sent before production so you can check the details — course name spelling, hole number and date — before anything is engraved.
